1. Measure for a comfortable fit

Measure around the neck

With your pet standing comfortably, wrap a soft tape around the neck where the collar will sit, below the ears and above the shoulders. Keep the tape flat without pulling tight or compressing the fur. Record the measurement in centimeters or inches, then check it again. Without a tape, use a non-stretch ribbon and measure it against a ruler.

Compare the adjustable inner circumference

Use the size chart for the collar you are choosing. Compare the wearable inner circumference, not the strap’s total flat length. Size labels, breed and weight alone do not establish fit. Choose a range that allows adjustment for comfort; do not automatically size up or add a fixed allowance to every pet’s measurement. If the measurement is near a limit or between ranges, ask us before ordering.

Check the fit before wear

After fastening, check that two fingers fit comfortably beneath the collar without forcing them in. It should not press into the neck or slip over the head. This is a starting guide: always check your individual pet’s comfort and security. Recheck regularly, especially as your pet grows or their coat or weight changes.

2. Care by material

Materials and finishes need different care. This reference does not mean every material is used in every item. Follow any supplied care label first. For mixed materials, use the gentlest method suitable for every component and keep moisture away from decorative settings and attachments. Test any permitted cleaner on a hidden area first.

Genuine leather

Dust with a soft, dry cloth. For smooth, finished leather, gently lift surface marks with a barely damp cloth, then air-dry away from sunlight and heaters. Avoid soaking, scrubbing and machine washing. Use a leather cleaner or conditioner only when it is suitable for the specific finish and for an item worn by a pet; apply sparingly and remove residue as directed. Do not apply ordinary leather creams to suede or nubuck: use a suitable dry brush and specialist advice instead.

PU faux leather

Wipe gently with a soft, slightly damp cloth. If needed and permitted by the care label, use a small amount of diluted mild soap, then wipe away residue with a clean damp cloth and dry at room temperature. Avoid soaking, bleach, alcohol, solvents and abrasive pads. Do not use leather oils, waxes or conditioners. Store without sharp folds, away from heat and prolonged sunlight.

Microfiber materials

Microfiber can be a woven textile or part of a coated leather-like material; do not assume both are washable. Start with a dry, soft cloth or brush. For marks, use gentle spot cleaning only if the finish permits it, with minimal moisture and no hard rubbing. Air-dry fully. Avoid bleach, solvents and high heat; do not machine-wash unless the care label expressly allows it.

Fabric and webbing

Brush away loose dirt and blot fresh marks rather than rubbing them in. Where the care label permits, spot-clean with a soft cloth and diluted mild detergent, then remove detergent residue with a clean damp cloth. Avoid saturating attached leather, coatings or decorations. Reshape gently and air-dry completely before use or storage. Machine washing and tumble drying are suitable only when expressly allowed by the care label.

Natural crystal

Wipe gently with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. Cleaning tolerance varies with the stone, any treatments and its setting. Unless specific care instructions say otherwise, avoid soaking, steam, ultrasonic cleaners and chemical jewelry cleaners. Protect from knocks, scratching, strong heat and prolonged direct sunlight; store pieces separately in a soft pouch or lined compartment. Natural differences in color and pattern are expected, but cracks, sharp chips or loose settings require attention before further use.

Metal fittings and magnetic bases

Remove dust with a dry cloth and keep contact surfaces free of grit. Dry promptly if damp. Avoid abrasive polishing, chemical cleaners and prolonged moisture, especially around plated finishes, joints and magnetic bases. Store all materials clean and fully dry in a cool, ventilated place.

3. Change replaceable details

Only remove components designed to be replaceable. Do not pry off fixed decorations or assume that similar-looking fittings are compatible.

1. Remove the collar first. Work on a clear surface away from pets and children. Keep all small pieces together.
2. Change magnetic ornaments gently. Support the base and lift the ornament by its setting, not by the crystal or decorative surface. Keep the recessed base clean and dry. Align a compatible replacement and seat it fully without forcing it.
3. Change hanging chains or bead strands at their connectors. Open the intended clasp or connector, support the strand and detach it gently. Attach the compatible replacement at the designated points and close every connector fully. Never pull on beads or force open a fixed ring.
4. Check before refitting. Gently check that each attachment is secure and no part is loose, damaged or sharp. Recheck the collar’s fit, and put unused pieces into closed storage out of reach.

Decorative ornaments, magnetic bases and hanging strands are not leash attachment points. If a fitting does not release or seat as intended, stop and ask us for guidance.

4. Wear safely, together

Take extra care around other pets

During play, pets may bite, pull or catch each other’s collars and hanging decorations. Small ornaments, beads, connectors or magnets can become detached and be swallowed. Remove decorative collars and loose accessories before rough play, wrestling, daycare or unsupervised time together. Supervise wear and stop use if any pet chews or repeatedly paws at the details.

Keep small parts out of reach

These accessories are not chew toys. Store detached pieces away from pets and children, and check for missing parts after wear. If you suspect a pet has swallowed any accessory, especially a magnet, contact a veterinarian or emergency veterinary clinic immediately, even if the pet seems well. Do not wait for symptoms or attempt to induce vomiting unless a veterinarian instructs you to.

Inspect every fastening

Before each use, check the strap, stitching, buckle, leash ring, decorative settings and connectors. Stop using an item if any part is loose, cracked, frayed, sharp or missing. Remove it if you notice rubbing, redness or discomfort.

Choose the right fastening and use

A decorative or magnetic attachment does not make a collar a safety breakaway collar. For cats, choose a confirmed quick-release or breakaway fastening appropriate to their activities; do not leave a cat unattended in a non-breakaway decorative collar. Use a leash only with equipment confirmed as suitable for walking, attached to its intended leash ring. Never attach a leash to ornaments or hanging strands, or use decorative collars for tethering.

Remove decorative accessories before bathing or swimming, and whenever they could snag on a crate, fence or other object.
